XeBusiness Reports IT Investment Increases in Apparel Sector

Manchester UK: 31st December 2003

Manchester based apparel and textile systems specialist XeBusiness reports significant levels for IT investment growth amongst UK Apparel and Textile suppliers in 2003.

"2003 has been a good year for us" reports David Cullis, XeBusiness Chief Executive. "Despite continuing difficulties in the UK IT sector, we have achieved substantial - over 30% - new business sales growth with our market leading product - Xe-ERP - over the period. These contracts, often won in the face of intense competition, have served to boost our new business sales, profits and cash inflow to record levels."

Systems contracts from large and household name fashion brands like Burberry and Fruit of the Loom have been supplemented by a large number of small to medium sized fashion suppliers like Faraway Trade, Cult Distribution, Ace Clothing, Charlon, Roadhogs, Josef Clothing and Pennant amongst others.

XeBusiness has also focused on the work wear and career wear industry segment winning a number of systems implementation contracts from companies who supply specialist garments like uniforms to Airlines, Hotels and Restaurants, the NHS and the MOD. High profile suppliers operating in this B2B sector of the industry like Style Workwear and Wessex Textiles implemented Xe-ERP to streamline their customer service and cost management programmes.

Neither has the XeBusiness client base allowed the grass to grow under their feet over 2003. Major upgrade contracts were received by XeBusiness from clients like Dewhirst (Malaysia), JRL (Joint Retail Logistics - joint venture between Tibbett and Britten and Excel Logistics), Gymphlex and Castleblair amongst others.

XeBusiness also obtained its first two major manufacturing systems contracts from its newly appointed re-seller in Vietnam.

A conservative and pragmatic investment approach to IT is still very evident in the Apparel and Textile sector. XeBusiness have demonstrated that with an equally pragmatic marketing approach focusing on fast ROI linked to competitive pricing and with an emphasis on product and support excellence, rates of IT sales growth last seen in the late 90's are still possible.
